A Brookfield construction company owner has waived arraignment in a Randolph County Court.
Daniel Joseph Gaunt, owner of JD Construction Company, waived his arraignment on charges of Felony Stealing $750 or more and two counts of Felony Deceptive Business Practices.
Gaunt’s preliminary hearing has been scheduled for September 17th at 1:30pm in the Randolph County Courthouse in Huntsville.
The case stems from allegations by the Renick Board of Education which contracted work from Gaunt’s Construction Business.
Allegedly the first $5,000 payment was issued January 17th and Gaunt claimed on February 14th a second payment had not been received.
The work allegedly was not completed by the promised March 1st deadline.
