Old Steam Plant Demo To Start Soon

The demolition of the old CMU steam plant will start in early August.  CMU General Manager Jim Gillilan says Red Rock was awarded the project in early June at a cost of $320,000.  Gillilan says required notice has been given to the DNR that the demo will begin on or around August 1st.  Demolition is expected to be complete by the end of the year.

As part of the demolition contract, there will be an effort to save the entry from the east end of the building and “Chillicothe Power Plant” from above the east end window.  Gillilan says his crews will work with Redrock to save those items.  There are no definite plans for the pieces at this time.
