CPD asking City For More Officers

The Chillicothe Police Chief has told City Administrator Darin Chappell that two new Police Officers would be helpful to the department.
Administrator Darin Chappell says he agrees, but there is not enough money in the budget to add more police personnel.

Chappell says with the growing community and growing number of calls, the Police staff is struggling at times to keep pace with calls for service.

He says one way to increase funding for the police department could be through a dedicated sales tax.

The Chillicothe City Council has discussed the issue and is interested in feedback from city citizens. Any such sales tax would need voter approval.
