Demolition of the old Chillicothe Steam Plant apparently will begin in the next couple of days.
Jim Gillilan, General Manager of Chillicothe Municipal Utilities says the demolition company called Red Rock has begun delivering some equipment to the job site today (Friday).
Gillilan says the company has been instructed to save a few design parts of the building.
Red Rock won the demolition project with a bid of $320,000.
The demolition is expected to be finished before the end of the year.
The asbestos in the building was removed earlier at a cost of more than One Million dollars.
Gillilan says when finished, the vacant area will be turned into a green space.
