Chillicothe City Council Approves Tax Rate As Part Of Council Meeting

The tax rate of personal property and real estate in the city of Chillicothe remains the same as last year, .8862 per $100 valuation.  The City Council held a public hearing Monday night and City Administrator Darin Chappell says there were no public comments.  He says the council approved the rate as presented.  He says even without an increase, they will receive slightly more than last year.

In other action at the meeting, Chappell says they amended the Medical Marijuana Ordinance.

He says the testing facilities don’t have the noxious fumes or other problems growing or manufacturing facilities may have.

A final item from the meeting was the change of the date for the first council session in September.  That meeting will be on September 16th at Chillicothe City Hall.  The change is due to the City Clerk, City Auditor, City Administrator and Mayor attending the annual MML conference.
