Micro Surfacing On Route M & Washington Street Begins Next Week

Stage two of the resurfacing on US 65 through Chillicothe and a portion of Route M in Linn County will begin soon.  MoDOT says the contractor, Missouri Petroleum, will begin the work in Linn County next Monday, September 9th, and when that project is complete, they will move over to Chillicothe for the second stage of the resurfacing.

MoDOT says the “micro-surfacing” follows a scrub seal, which was completed in August. This helps slow deterioration of the pavement, fills some ruts and minor surface irregularities, reduces water getting into the pavement, and improves surface friction.

Work on the second stage will take place from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am,  Route M is expected to be completed in one night, while work on Washington Street through Chillicothe could take up to 6 nights to complete.  Missouri Petroleum says they will work weekend nights if necessary.
