Flooding On The Grand River and Road Closing Continue – REVISED

The Grand River remains well above flood stage from Gallatin to Brunswick.

At Pattonsburg, the river has fallen back below flood stage of 25 feet.

At Gallatin the river crested at 33.13 feet and the river level is falling faster than forecasted.  At midday, the river was at 29.96 feet.  Flooding is expected to continue until Thursday morning.  Flood stage at Gallatin is 27 feet.

At Chillicothe, the river crested at 34.32 feet and is steadily falling.  Moderate flooding is occurring and the river is at 31.1 feet at midday and flooding will continue until sometime Friday.  Flood Stage at Chillicothe is 24 feet.

At Sumner, flood stage is 26 feet.  Moderate flooding is occurring and will continue through the weekend.  The river crested at 36.17 feet and moderate flooding will continue into the weekend.

At Brunswick, Minor flooding is occurring as the river was at 25.35 feet Tuesday evening and dropped to 23.7 feet this morning.  Minor flooding is expected to continue until Monday.  Flood stage at Brunswick is 19 feet.

 

Road Closures

As the flooding on area creeks and rivers continues to subside, roads that were closed due to flooding are re-opening.  There are only a couple roads that remain closed in the KCHI listening area at this time.

Chariton County,

Route M closed from the Grand River to Schluter Avenue,

Route J closed south of Agee Avenue
