CMU Health Insurance Rate Rising

The cost of health insurance for employees at Chillicothe Municipal Utilities will increase and so will the deductible.  The Board of Public Works met Tuesday morning to review the bids.  General Manager Jim Gillilan says with no change to the current plan, the increase was 24%.  The board rejected that bid and tried to keep the cost close to the current rate.

That plan stays with the same company.

Gillilan says that will go into effect in December.  He says with the increase, there is also a charge for the family plan.

Gillilan says other discussions in the meeting included the work on the steam plant demolition.  He says Red Rock is working on the school demolition in Brookfield and the board hopes to see them back in Chillicothe in a few weeks.  The demolition deadline for the steam plant is mid-December.
