Girls 3rd, Boys 22nd at Excelsior Springs XC

The Chillicothe Lady Hornets finished 3rd in what Coach Michael Creekmore said was a tough course in the Excelsior Springs Invitational. The Hornets finished 22nd in their field.
The Lady Hornets were led by Aliya Briner in 12th place overall. Juliann Gabrielson was 17th, Clarissa Shipers was 21st, Kaydence Shipers was 29th, Emma Burk was 39th, Kathryn George was 57th and Callaway Chapman was 60th.
On the boys side, Hayden Simmer led the team with a 40th place finish. Stephen Parkes was 120th, Clayton Savage 121st, Logan Gregory 137th, Gavin Funk was 145th and Nathan Toole was 155th.
Other area schools involved included the Meadville girls in 8th place, the Meadville boys in 16th, Polo 18th and Braymer 21st place.
In the Junior Varsity race for the Lady Hornets, Mayanna Weed was 17th and Kiera Bosley was 26th.
Middle School Girls had Yoo Jung Lee in 7th and Karissa Fostek in 44th
Middle School Boys finished in 9th place. Carter Shipers was 16th, Tyler Stephens 27th, Joshua Adams 31st, Cain Evans 44th, Cutter Parkes 63rd, Landyn Peterson 68th and Alton Keller 69th place.
