Flooding Expected – Warnings Issued

The Grand River at Brunswick is expected to be back below flood stage this morning as the river was supposed to drop below the 19-foot mark Wednesday evening.  The national weather service has issued a flood warning beginning Friday morning for The Grand River at Chillicothe, Sumner and Brunswick.

At Chillicothe, the flooding will be short-lived as the river will reach a crest of 24.1 feet.  Flood stage is 24 feet.

At Sumner, the river will rise above flood stage of 26 feet early Friday and crest late Friday night at 31.8 feet, with flooding lasting until Sunday morning.

At Brunswick, the river is expected to rise back above flood stage of 19 feet Friday morning, crest at 21 feet Saturday night and flooding will continue until Monday morning.
