City Council Workshop Focuses On Streets

The Chillicothe City Council meeting Tuesday night included a workshop session to discuss the City’s Street Improvement Plan.

Part of that plan includes an accurate inventory of the city streets, including the condition of each. To properly complete the survey they will do both visual inspections and measured assessments.  The measures assessments could include core sampling and other techniques to properly determine the condition of the road and roadbed.  It would also include recommendations on the work needed on that street.   The City’s Engineering firm, Allgeier Martin estimates the cost of a full inventory of the streets at about $100,000 and it could take about a year to complete.

A complete inventory would allow the City Council to properly create a Street Master Plan, for maintenance and necessary rehabilitation of the streets.
