Another 1900 deer were harvested by the youth hunters in the Late Youth Portion of the season, November 29th to December 1st. that is down about 600 from last year’s late youth season.
Top counties for the Late Youth Season were Osage with 63 deer checked, Lincoln with 45, and Callaway with 41.
Totals for the local counties in the Late Youth Portion are Caldwell – 14, Carroll – 20, Chariton – 10, Daviess – 27, Grundy – 14, Linn – 14, Livingston – 13 and Sullivan County with 11.
Deer hunting in Missouri continues with archery deer hunting now through January 15th.
The antlerless portion of firearms deer season runs December 6th to the 8th.
Lastly, the alternative methods portion will run December 28th through January 7th.
