Chillicothe Seniors Wes Brandsgaard and C. J. Pfaff lit up the scoreboard to help the Hornets basketball team beat Falls City, Nebraska Tigers 61-49 in an opening round game of the Bishop LeBlond Tournament.
Brandsgaard had 23 points and C. J. Pfaff had 20 to lead the Hornets. Chillicothe led by no more than nine points most of the game. Falls City tied the game with 2:00 left in the third quarter but Chillicothe responded to lead by three at the end of the third.
Coach Tim Cool said there was a key turning point in the 4th quarter.

Others scoring in the game were Hayden Simmer with 8 points, Cayden Potter with 3, Bradley Riley with 2 points and eight rebounds. Mason Baxter and Griff Bonderer each had two points while Wyatt Brandsgaard and Joseph Tullos both saw playing time. Chillicothe plays tonight (Saturday) at 5:30pm against Kansas City Saint Michael the Archangel. St Michael beat Mid Buchanan 78-56.
In the upper half the bracket, Bishop LeBlond hit a trey at the buzzer to beat North Andrew 54-52. East Buchanan beat LeBlond JV after KC East had transportation problems and could not make the game.
in the Girls Bracket, top to bottom, Bishop LeBlond girls over North Andrew 52-42, East Buchanan over Falls City 53-31, Maryville beat KC East by forfeit and Mid Buchanan beat Hogan Prep 66-44.
