Area producers that would like to find out about managing Warm Season Grasses are invited to attend a workshop scheduled for January 22nd in Chillicothe. The University of Missouri Extension service is providing the Native Warm Season Grass Management program at the Mildred Litton Community Center at the Litton Ag Center. The four-hour program will start at 10:30 am and will focus on ways to enhance or improve the forage base of North Missouri grass farms. The primary focus will be on the establishment and management of native warm-season grasses. Valarie Tate from the Linn County MU Extension Office says they will have several experts on hand for the program.
Registration for the program is required, but the program is offered free of charge. Call 660-895-5123 no later than January 17th.
