Hornets Beat Bishop LeBlond by 1 point

The Chillicothe Hornets managed to hang on to beat St Joseph Bishop LeBlond boys on the road 33-32 in a Midland Empire Conference contest.
The Hornets managed a 6-0 run in the middle of the fourth quarter to take a three point lead.
LeBlond closed the game to 1 point and had a chance late in the game. However a bad pass went out of bounds. Chillicothe missed the front of three 1 and 1 free throw opportunities in the final 10 seconds. A rushed trey from the left wing by LeBlond was short, giving the Hornets the victory.
Coach Tim Cool said Senior Westley Brandsgaard played a tough game both physically and mentally to help the Hornets to the win

With CJ Paff at only partial strength due to illness. Senior Westley Brandsgaard picked up the pace and finished with 22 of the team’s 33 points. Pfaff contributed 6, Griff Bonderer with 3, Mason Baxter with 2 and playing time for Bradley Riley, Hayden Simmer, Cayden Potter and Joseph Tullos.

In the Boys under Card games against LeBlond, the Golden Eagles won the Junior Varsity contest 41-29 thanks to a big fourth quarter.
Chillicothe’s JV was led by Cayden Potter and Wyatt Brandsgaard each with 8 points, Landon Winder with 5, Griff Bonderer with 4 and Cameron Fleener with 2 points.
The Chillicothe Freshman team improved to 3-1 with a 30-22 win over LeBlond.
Landon Winder had 12 points for Chillicothe, Gabe Hansen with 6, Isaiah Sprong with 4, Cayden Potter with 3, Jackson Reeter and Quentin Cranmer each with 2 and Carson Steele with 1 point.
