In the opening round of the C.L.A.A. basketball tournament Monday:
Tina Avalon girls upset #3 Northwestern of Mendon 53-37.
Tina Avalon was led by Samantha Rounkles with 16 points, Haley Rucker with 13 and Kadie Rounkles with 12.
Northwestern was led by Georgeanne Zahner with 13 points
#4 Brunswick girls over Southwest 41-40. Brunswick had 16 points from both Abby Dobbins and Addi Riley.
Southwest was led by Makenna Campbell with 18 points and Matney Waters with 10 points.
#5 Northwestern of Mendon boys edged Brunswick 52-50. Northwestern was led by Silas Brown with 19 points and Isaac Zahner with 17.
Brunswick was led by Kobe Tatum with 19, J.T. Collier with 13 and Amari Glasgow with 11 points
#3 Southwest boys over Tina Avalon 61-38. Southwest was led by Mack Anderson with 23 points and Chase Neptune with 19 points.
Tina Avalon was led by Owen Bell with 12 and Kylier Sturgeon with 11 points.
First round games continue tonight at the CLAA Tournament at Tina-Avalon.
