The Chillicothe Municipal airport will remain open this summer as work is scheduled on the main runway. The Chillicothe city council on Monday approved Amendment #2 to the State Airport Block Grant. City Administrator Darin Chappell explains some of the work that will take place.
Chappell says this will require a partial shut down of the airport facilities.
Chappell says with the funding available from the state and federal Government covering 90% of the project, the city can not pass on the project.
He says during the work, there will be a period where the airport will be closed down completely, but it will be as short a period as possible.
