Four Chillicothe Lady Hornets and Three Chillicothe Hornets basketball players were named to this season’s All Midland Empire Conference Basketball teams.
According to Coach Darren Smith, for the Lady Hornets, Seniors Hunter Keithley and Jordan Hibner were named first team all conference. Sophomore Essie Hicks and Freshman Jessica Reeter were named to the Honorable Mention team.
According to Coach Tim Cool, for the Hornet Boys, Seniors Westley Brandsgaard and C. J. Pfaff were named first team all conference and Senior Bradley Riley was named to the Honorable Mention team.

Several KCHI area basketball players were included on this year’s HDC Conference Team
The Grundy County Girls team was both season and tournament conference champions. Named to the Conference First Team were Jandie Peterson and Aubrey Gann, with Anna Milazzo named second team all conference and Brianna Carpio named Honorable Mention. Named to the Defensive Team was Jandie Peterson. Ty Stillwell was named Coach of the Year in the Girls HDC Conference.
The Tri County of Jamesport girls team finished in second place in the Conference Season and in the Conference Tournament.
Named to the First Team was Bailee Hoover and named to the Second Team was Destiny Gustshall. Named to the Defensive Team was Kaelynn Evans.
For the Boys, Grundy County was fourth in the conference standings and in the conference tournament. Caden Gann was named 1st team all conference and Cooper Lewis named to the second team,
Tri-County of Jamesport boys team finished sixth in the conference standings for the season. Freshman Derick Curtis was named to the Conference Honorable Mention team.
Winston won the season conference title and the conference tournament, with Mercer boys second.
Despite the fine season by the teams, no HDC team won a district championship, and did not qualify for the state tournament.
