Single Vehicle Leaves One Dead & Four With Serious Injuries

An Accident in Ray County Saturday morning took the life of one person and left four with serious injuries. The single-vehicle accident happened At about 9:10 am on Highway 10 at Young Road.  According to the report from the Missouri Highway Patrol, 53-year-old Shelly Lewis of Carrollton died as a result of her injuries.

The report states 62-year-old Charles Lewis was westbound on Highway 10, driving a pick-up and ran off the right side of the road and overturned.  The driver and the remaining three passengers, a 13-year-old juvenile and 39-year-old Candace Bigby of Wright City, and 37-year-old Andrew Schenck of Warrenton had serious injuries and were taken to various hospitals.  Only the driver and the juvenile were wearing safety belts.
