Chillicothe Police Report For Tuesday Includes An Arrest

Chillicothe Police officers responded to 79 calls for service Tuesday and made one arrest.

11:10 am, Officers responded to the 1200 block of Third Street to report of possible narcotics paraphernalia found discarded on the property.  Officers recovered the item for disposal.

5:54 pm, Report of a drive-off without paying for fuel that had been pumped into a vehicle from a business in the 1000 block of S. Washington Street.  Information on the suspect vehicle was obtained and the investigation continues.

7:46 pm, responded to a call about a group of people in Danner Park.  Officer checked on the situation and no problem was observed.  There was a parking violation, which was corrected.

8:12 pm, Officer responded to an accident at eastbound US 36 at Mitchell.  A Tractor-trailer was eastbound and took evasive action to avoid a vehicle collision at the Mitchell Ave. intersection.  The truck struck a signpost and traveled into the median, resulting in minor damage.  The truck had to be towed from the median.

8:40 pm, Call from business in the 1200 block of N. Washington Street about someone behind the business and acting strangely.  The officer found the person as they were leaving the area.  nothing suspicious observed at this time.

8:42 pm, Report of a strange odor in the 1300 block of Walnut Street.  Officer located residence with active burn barrel and yard waste in the 1500 block of Walnut Street.  The person was extinguishing the fire for the evening.

9:33 pm, Officers out in the 1200 block of Green Street to attempt to locate an individual on a Caldwell County warrant for auto theft.  The person was located and taken into custody.  Caldwell County was contacted and picked up the detainee.
