Governor Suspends Classroom Learning For Academic Year

Classroom learning activities for the remainder of this academic year are suspended.  Governor Mike Parson made that announcement in his briefing this afternoon.  Parson says the students will continue the distance learning through the end of the planned school year.  Chillicothe R-II Superintendent Dan Wiebers says the district will need to look at some of their plans, but students will not be returning to the classroom this year.

Under the announcement, the distance learning will continue in the school districts through their last planned day of classes.

The Governor did talk about the disappointment of not having the normal graduation ceremony.

The Chillicothe R-II and other districts in the area will be making plans and announcements concerning the classes and equipment that must to be returned.
