Snow and Poor Road Conditions Possible With Winter Weather Advisory

A Winter Weather Advisory had been issued beginning at 9:00 am today until 7:00 am Friday.  This advisory includes Livingston, Daviess, Grundy and Linn Counties in the local area.  A Winter Storm Warning is issued for areas to the north, along the Missouri/Iowa line.  This includes Sullivan County in the local area.

Light snow will be possible this morning, but the main round of snow is expected to develop late this afternoon and continuing through the overnight hours.   The change from heavy snow to little snow will be very tight, perhaps as narrow as a county across northern Missouri.  Snow amounts of 6+ inches are expected along the Missouri and Iowa state line with lower amounts further south.

  • Wet snow expected. Total snow accumulations of up to 4 inches.
  • This includes portions of northeast Kansas and north central and northwest Missouri.
  • Those that are out, should plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening and morning commutes.
