Plattsburg Man Arrested After Sideswiping Bicyclist

An accident on US 69 north of Cameron Tuesday evening left the driver of a car with moderate injuries and a bicycle rider with minor injuries.  The accident happened around 8:45 pm as 34-year-old Travis Pyzer of Plattsburg was northbound and sideswiped a bicycle ridden by 34-year-old Pride Willis of Cameron, causing Willis to be ejected from the bike.  Pyzer continued northbound and then ran off the road, struck an embankment and a tree and his car overturned, coming to rest on its wheels.

Pyzer had moderate injuries and Willis had minor injuries.  Both were taken to Cameron Regional Hospital for treatment.

Pyzer was also arrested for alleged DWI resulting in personal injury, resisting arrest, driving while revoked, careless and imprudent driving, leaving the scene of an accident, no seatbelt, and no insurance.  He was held at the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail.
