An appeal has been filed in the DNR’s issuing of an operating permit for the CAFO – Z-8 Sow Farm in northwest Livingston County. A community group called Poosey Neighbors United, LLC filed with the Missouri Administrative Hearing Commission. They will conduct the hearing and make a recommendation to the Clean Water Commission or CWC.
Poosey Neighbors United is claiming the permit is unlawful and improper. They also claim the DNR did not hold public hearings because: The DNR did not find that the opposition they had received from the public warranted granting a public hearing before issuing the permit.”
