Sergeant Valbracht Retiring From 42 Years Of Public Service

A celebration for Sergeant John Valbracht was held as he prepares to retire after 42 years of service to the residents of Chillicothe and Livingston County.   Sergeant Valbracht started his service in 1978 as a reserve officer.  He later became a pay by call firefighter, reserve deputy fo the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department, and later a full-time Deputy.   He then returned to the Chillicothe Police Department where he later earned the rank of Sergeant.

The retirement ceremony on Thursday included the presentation of proclamations from Mayor Theresa Kelly and Representative Rusty Black.

There were also presentations made by the Fire and Police Chiefs, fellow officers, and his family.

Sergeant John Valbracht says he has a few shifts remaining before he leaves his post at the Chillicothe Police Department.  He says he looks forward to his retirement and the time he will spend with family.
