Four Rescued From Float Trip On Grand River

Four people were rescued on the Grand River after being stranded by an overnight storm.  Early morning on Wednesday, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, Chillicothe Department of Emergency Services, and Missouri Department of Conservation worked together to locate and rescue the stranded floaters.

The report states the 4 had floated on the Grand and found a sandbar to spend the night.  In the overnight hours the storm came up and their rafts were blown away.  They were able to call for help and the four were located on the Grand River, southeast of Chillicothe.  The Conservation Agent used his boat to put in at the Chillicothe access and get downstream and was able to retrieve all four.
