COVID-19 At Chillicothe Correction Center

The Missouri Department of Corrections reports the Chillicothe Correction Center has four cases of COVID that are active in their system.  That number includes three staff members and one offender.

The Department of Corrections has completed the mass testing of offenders and staff at the Chillicothe site.

Offenders who test positive are isolated until they test negative. Staff who test positive are sent home on leave and must test negative twice before returning to work.  In addition, all staff who have close contact with a positive are sent home for two weeks of quarantine.

On July 1st, the Department of Corrections suspended visitation at the Chillicothe facility.  The Chillicothe Facility canceled the visitation over the July 4th holiday weekend and have suspended visiting sessions until further notice as the facility works to contain the spread of the virus.
