Serious To Minor Injuries In Weekend Accidents

The Missouri Highway Patrol investigated several accidents over the weekend including one that left a child with Serious Injuries.

Sunday in Daviess County, an accident on Interstate 35 near Altamont left three injured, including one with serious injuries.  State Troopers report a 10-year-old girl was taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital with serious injuries.  According to the report, the girl was a passenger in a vehicle driven by 53-year-old Melisa Huffman of DesMoines.  Huffman was northbound and lost control, crossed the median and struck a southbound vehicle driven by 63-year-old Bobbi Myers of Princeton, head-on.  Both drivers were taken to Cameron Regional Hospital with moderate injuries.  They were all wearing safety belts.

Friday in Linn County, at about 8:20 am, a single-vehicle accident left a Purdin woman with minor injuries.  Twenty-six-year-old Cheyenne McQueen was taken to Pershing Memorial Hospital following the accident on Missouri Highway 5, just north of Laclede.  The report states McQueen ran off the road and her car overturned.  She was wearing a safety belt.

Friday at about 11:40 am in Daviess County, a two-vehicle accident near Lake Viking left both drivers injured.  The report states vehicle driven by 62-year-old Fern Craven of Polo and 66-year-old Willa Gibson of Gallatin were both westbound and Craven slowed and signaled for a turn and was struck from behind by the Gibson vehicle.  Craven was treated at the scene for minor injuries.  Gibson was taken to Cameron Regional Hospital with moderate injuries.  They were wearing safety belts.
