A local author has released the first in a new series of books about her life and the life of her mother. June Betz was born in Spickard and in recent years returned to the Trenton area. Betz says “Missouri Maidens” came from conversations she had with her mother before her passing in 2011.
Betz says that story was not about an easy life.
