Livingston County Sheriff’s Department Investigations & Arrests

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department conducted several investigations in the second half of August.  Some of those include:

August 17 deputies began an investigation during a disturbance in Mooresville.  The investigation led to the search of a home in the 400 block of Jackson Street in Mooresville.  Evidence seized includes 2 handguns and ammunition as the suspect is a convicted felon.  They arrested 37-year-old Matt Jason Gaunt of Mooresville for alleged 2 counts unlawful Possession of Firearm.

August 18th deputies responded to Ludlow area on a report of stealing.  The report states someone had stolen several tools. The investigation continues.

August 22nd deputies assisted the Children’s Division on a call in the western part of Livingston County.  During the call the deputy learned there were 7 firearms in the home where a convicted felon lives and the firearms were in a location where the children could have easy access to them.  A report was sent to the prosecuting attorney.

August 27 at 3:20 am deputies responded to a location in Wheeling for reported Domestic Violence.  Investigation shows an intoxicated man allegedly punched another person and fled on foot before officers arrived.  No one wished to cooperate with prosecution.

Arrests in the report include:

August 17th, 58-year-old Danny Ray Souders of Jamesport on a warrant for alleged Violation of Bond Conditions.

August 19th, 40-year-old Norman Justin Caselman of Hale on the revocation of bond.  He posted bond again and was released.

August 20th, a motorcycle was stopped in Chillicothe for no license plate.  The 26-year-old Anthony Eugene Yeomans of Chillicothe was arrested for alleged no valid plate and no valid license.

August 20th, 30-year-old Curtis D. Burton of Brookfield was arrested following a traffic stop.  The arrest was on a Linn County warrant.

August 21st, 53-year-old Kelvin Maggiefield of Trenton was arrested on a Livingston County warrant for alleged Failure to Obey a Judge’s Order.

August 23rd, a traffic stop led to the arrest of 31-year-old Michael C. Sanders of Marshall for alleged Driving While Intoxicated and Excessive Speed.

August 24th, a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of 32-year-old Melissa D. Colbert for alleged Excessive Speed and Driving While Revoked.
