Livingston Co. Sheriff’s Department Investigations

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department reported investigations of illegal trash dumping and animal neglect.

August 27th trash dumping was investigated near LIV 206 and LIV 247.   The investigation continues.

August 28th a domestic disturbance resulted in the arrest of 33-year-old Joshua E. Swan of Chillicothe for alleged domestic assault.  He posted bond and was released.

August 31st, multiple trash dumping locations in the northwest part of the county were checked.   The investigation shows a building in Chillicothe received a new roof and the contractor subcontracted someone to handle disposal.  Those people have been identified and have not yet talked with law enforcement.   However, the contractor was very upset about what has happened he has assisted in cleaning up areas of concern.

September 1st, deputies assisted the Humane Society of Missouri Animal Cruelty Task Force on an investigation of possible possession of a stolen horse and animal neglect.  The report states there was no stolen horse.  However, the person was found to be in possession of multiple animals.  One horse was found to be owned by another person and a report is being submitted to the prosecuting attorney for consideration of animal neglect/abuse violation due to an existing injury.
