CPD Handles Domestic Threat of Violence

In Chillicothe Police calls on Friday, at 2:00 am Officers were contacted at the police department by a female in distress. The female advised that her husband had assaulted her at the residence in the 500 block of Elmdale Road, had a weapon, and was going to allegedly kill her. Officers took the report and provided resources to the female.
Officers began the investigation and attempted to contact the male, but he would not respond. The female advised that if officers arrived at the residence the male would possibly shoot officers. Officers formulated a plan and applied for and obtained an arrest warrant for the subject.
Missouri State Highway Patrol, Livingston County Sheriff’s Department, and Chillicothe police officers arrived at the residence and subsequently took the male into custody without incident for Domestic Assault 2nd  Degree.
A cash bond was set at $25,000. The subject was transported to and incarcerated in the Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail in lieu of bond.
Officers also seized firearms per an Order of Protection paperwork and due to the safety issue.
At 11:26 am, An Officer checking the 2800 block of N. Washington Street reference subject reporting possible attempted break-in….Investigation continuing.
At 11:33 am, An Officer speaking with a subject on the phone about possible theft in the 500 block of S. Washington Street, the investigation is continuing.
At 1:44 police took a report of a possible sex offense, the investigation continues.
In total, officers investigated 120 calls ranging from a lost cat to youth harassing a person.
