CHS Softball throttles Maryville V & JV

The Chillicothe Girls Softball team made quick work in a 14-3 win over Maryville with the ten-run mercy rule in five innings.
The Lady Hornets scored four in the first inning. Maryville responded with two in the second, but Chillicothe scored four in the bottom of the third.
Maryville scored one in the fourth, but Chillicothe scored three in the fourth and three more in the fifth for the 14-3 win.
Chillicothe had four home runs from four different players. Kinlei Boley had a home run and two singles with three rbi. Brooke Horton and Sophia Luetticke both had a home run and single, and Bre Pithan had a home run.
Kirsten Dunn and Mollie Ellis both had a double and single. Mika Hibner had a double and Hope Helton had three singles.
Coach Lee Rucker said his team is doing a great job being selective at the plate. He said they are working counts and finding good pitches to it.
Kinlei Boley pitched the complete game, allowing three runs, one earned, off four hits. Boley had seven strike outs and just one walk.

The Chillicothe Junior Varsity softball team made it a clean sweep with a 15-1 win over Maryville.
Coach Canaan Fairley said his team was led by Hadley Beemer with three innings pitched with no runs allowed and Emily Schreiner pitching two innings with one run allowed.
At the plate Quincey Jessen had 2 triples, Beemer with two doubles, Katelyn Fleener with one double and Avery Baxter with a single and a double.
