The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department reports several recent investigations.
September 28th, an investigation into a reported child sex offense came to conclusion with the arrest of 18-year-old Xander Mitchell, for alleged Statutory Rape or Attempted-1st degree with a victim under the age of 14. Â Mitchell was released from jail after arraignment in Associate Circuit Court.
September 23rd Deputies and the State Fire Marshall began an investigation of possible arson to a grain bin. The investigation continues.
September 24th  Deputies investigated a domestic assault call in the 1400 block of Polk Street of Chillicothe. Information was collected and a report is being submitted to the prosecuting attorney for consideration.
