Seeking Tips In Animal Abuse Investigation

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department is seeking tips on a case of animal abuse investigated in Wheeling.  Sheriff Steve Cox says on October 13th at about 1:20 pm, deputies responded to the 300 block of N. Sheridan Street for a residents pet Labrador that had been shot.  The dog had been taken outside about 11 am and got away.  The pet later returned injured with a small open wound on its side.  The vet determined the dog had been shot with a small-caliber projectile.   The dog was treated and will recover from this.
