‘The Chillicothe Boys Soccer team had a strong first half and held on to beat Kirksville 5 to 4.
Kirksville scored on a penalty kick in the 9th minute. After that it was all Chillicothe in the first half with scores by Ben Cueni-Smith in the 11th minute off a Nate King assist. Mason Baxter on a penalty kick in the 16th minute. Sam Reeter off a Baxter assist in the 34th minute, Drake Cosgrove off a Baxter assist two minutes later, and Baxter off a Reeter assist in the 38th minute.
Kirksville tried a second half comeback with goals in the 45th, 56th and 67th minute.
Gabe Hansen was the Hornets Goalkeeper due to an injury with normal starter Jaxon Albertson. Hansen was credited with six saves on goal.
The Junior Varsity contest ended in a scoreless tie.
