Two fatal accidents were reported in the area counties Tuesday.
Farm Accident Takes The Life Of Green Castle Man
A Greencastle man died Tuesday in a farm accident in Sullivan County. Sheriff Roger Smiley said the victim, 41-year-old Stephen Shirly of Green Castle, was found at about 11:00 am. The report states he was working on a farm, greasing a skid loader, when the skid loader’s bucket fell, crushing him.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. The sheriff state the incident was ruled an accident and an autopsy will be performed.
Carrollton Truck Driver Died In Roll-Over Accident
A fuel truck driver died in an accident on Highway E at Route OO in Carroll County Tuesday evening. State Troopers report 71-year-old Larry Edwards of Carrollton died at the scene of the accident that happened at about 5:05 pm. Edwards was eastbound on Highway E when he ran off the right side of the roadway and overcorrected, crossed to the left shoulder and the truck overturned. Edwards was not wearing a safety belt.
