The Chillicothe Boys Soccer team has advanced to the District Semifinal with a 3-0 win over St Joseph Lafayette. It was the third time this season that the Hornets beat the Irish.
Mason Baxter had a hand, or rather a foot, in all three scores. After a scoreless first half, Baxter scored off a Chace Corbin assist in the 57th minute. Baxter scored again in the 65th minute off a Caleb Vance assist, and Sam Reeter scored four minutes later off a Baxter assist. Chillicothe Goalkeeper had nine saves in the game.
Hornets Coach Tim Cunningham said his team showed a lot of grit and determination throughout the match.
He stated his players never panicked and stuck to the game play.
Chillicothe will face top-seed St Joseph Bishop LeBlond at :00pm tonight, Tuesday November 3rd.
The Hornets lost to LeBlond on September 10th 5-0, but all five goals were made in the first half. The second half was scoreless after some Chillicothe adjustments. Tonight’s game will be played in Savannah.
