The Missouri Highway Patrol is investigating a shooting that occurred when deputies attempted to serve a warrant in  Mooresville Thursday morning.  Sheriff Steve Cox says the deputies contacted the man wanted for alleged Domestic Assault in another jurisdiction.

The report states a woman was lying in bed and deputies were attempting to get her to comply as she was taken into custody.  The woman made it clear she was going nowhere and as the conversation continued, the woman pulled a handgun from under the covers and shot herself “in the head area.”

EMS was called to the scene and the woman was flown from the scene to an area hospital.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control was summoned to investigate the entire incident as the local deputies hand been attempting the warrant service.
