A major development has taken place in the Class 3 High School Football Playoffs. The defending state champions, the Odessa Bulldogs season is over. In a social media post by Odessa school officials, the Bulldogs have forfeited the remainder of their post season after having multiple positive COVID-19 tests with in their football program. With the forfeit, Summit Christian Academy wins the district.
Odessa was undefeated this season and outscored their opponents by an average score of 42 to 7.
The winner of tonight’s Maryville at Richmond football game will now play Summit Christian Academy in the first round of the Class 3 State Tournament.
In Class 1 tonight, Penney of Hamilton takes on Princeton. Marceline takes on Harrisburg
In Class 2 St Pius X of the MEC takes on Lafayette County: Higginsville
In 8-man Southwest Livingston hosts North Shelby.
