Southwest Is 8-Man State Champions

Southwest Livingston County used a strong Second Quarter to pull away from North Andrew and won the MSHSAA 8-Man Football Championship 52-34.
The teams traded touchdowns in the first quarter at 14-all.
Southwest had two touchdowns and conversions to lead 30-14 at the half and went on to win their first 8-Man State Championship.
Wildcats Quarterback Westley Hughes had a strong game with 183 yards passing and 152 yards rushing in the game.
Hughes connected with Ethan Hoerr for three touchdowns through the air, and Hughes rushed for two touchdowns. Jaden Sears had five catches for 50 yards, John Warren caught three for 32 yards and Parker Keeney had three catches for 27 yards.
John Warren had 9 carries for 105 yards and two touchdowns rushing.
On Defense Owen Oesch had nine solo and five assisted tackles. Parker Keeney had two and 12 and Chase Neptune had three tackles. ten assists and an interception.
