Salaries For Chillicothe Elected Officials Set By Council

The salaries for the Chillicothe Elected officials were set by ordinance during Monday’s Chillicothe City Council meeting.  The council approved the rate for the City Clerk and City Auditor at $58,249 per year, plus $75 for each City Council meeting held outside of normal office hours.

The salary for the Mayor was set at $18,361 per year, plus $75 for each Council meeting outside normal office hours and $35 for each Planning and Zoning meeting attended.

The Mayor also receives a $200 car allowance and $100 phone allowance.

The City Council pay was unchanged.  It will continue at $85 per Council meeting attended and $35 for HPC (Historic Preservation Commission) meetings attended.

City Administrator Darin Chappell says the changes in pay will not start until after the April election.

Filing For candidates begins December 15th at City Hall.
