Treys Topple Hornets at Tournament

The Smithville Warriors lit up the nets in the first quarter from the outside and went on to beat the Chillicothe Hornets Basketball team 54-39 in the consolation semifinal game of the Savannah Tournament.
Smithville’s Brad Schram had four treys early in the game to help build a 16-point lead in the middle of the first quarter.
Chillicothe battled back to trail by five points at halftime, and by three points twice in the third quarter.
Coach Tim Cool said this will be a learning experience for his players.

Unofficially, Chillicothe was led by Hayden Simmer with 17 points, Griff Bonderer with 8, Mason Baxter with 6, Eli Cross with 4, James Mathew with 3, Cameron Fleener with 1 and playing time  for Wyatt Brandsgaard, Cayden Potter, Landon Winder, Gabe Hansen, Kyle Young and Quentin Cranmer.
Chillicothe boys are now idle until Friday the 11th when Chillicothe hosts a Girls/Boys doubleheader against Trenton.
