A Hamilton woman was injured in an accident on Interstate 29 in Platte County. The accident happened at about 4:45 am Wednesday as 31-year-old Dex D Phelps of Clinton and 57-year-old Candy S Simpson of Hamilton were both northbound and, according to the Highway Patrol, Simpson improperly merged onto I-29 from I-435, striking the Phelps vehicle. Simpson was taken to North Kansas City Hospital with minor injuries. Phelps was not injured.
Simpson was also arrested by State Troopers for alleged DWI and an improper lane change.
