Winter Weather – Advisories and Warnings

A Winter Storm Watch is issued for much of the KCHI listening area beginning at Midnight.  A Winter storm warning is issued for the southern and parts of the listening area, including Carroll and Chariton Counties.

National Weather  Service Meteorologist Brett Williams says in the Winter Storm Watch, we will see freezing rain starting around Midnight.

This system is expected to bring 1/10th to ¼ of an inch of ice and a couple of inches of snow are possible.

In Carroll and Chariton Counties, more significant icing is expected, from 2/10th to 3/10th of an inch.

Road conditions could be very slick.  If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, blanket, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.  And make sure to have your phone and charger with you to call for assistance if needed.
