Simmer Scores 21 in Hornets Basketball Win

Chillicothe Senior Basketball Player Hayden Simmer had 21 points to help his Hornets team beat Penney of Hamilton 49 to 38 in the opening round of the Lawson Tournament.
Chillicothe Coach Tim Cool said the team is improving in more ways than just shooting the basketball.

Simmer had the hot hand, hitting 9 of 10 field goals and both free throws. His only miss was on a three-point shot. Griff Bonderer had 11 points, Wyatt Brandsgaard with 8, Mason Baxter with six, Cayden Potter with two, Jackson Trout with one and playing time for James Matthew, Eli Cross and Landon Winder.
Unofficially, Penney of Hamilton was led by 18 points from Andrew Rich.
In other Lawson tournament scores Lawson girls beat Gallatin 55-13 and Gallatin boys beat Lawson 67 to 47.
