Fire destroyed a garage at a home on LIV 2312 Wednesday afternoon. The Chillicothe Fire Department received the call at about 12:35 pm and arrived in about 6 minutes to find the detached garage fully engulfed in flames. The fire department had a pumper and tanker and requested assistance from Chula Fire Department. Power was removed from the building and after two hours and 10,000 gallons of water, the fire was out.
The garage contained two vehicles and other machinery and equipment.
The building and contents were a total loss.
The fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshall’s office to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
