Ray County Deputy Injured During Pursuit

An accident and an arrest are in the Highway Patrol report for the local counties on Wednesday.

A Ray County Deputy man had minor injuries in a single-vehicle accident in Livingston County Wednesday morning.  State Troopers report that at about 10:05 am 33-year-old Ray County Deputy Brandon S Williams was northbound on Route D in Ludlow in pursuit of another vehicle when he came to a railroad crossing and his vehicle became airborne, striking the roadway with the undercarriage of the vehicle.  The report states Williams was transported to Ray County Memorial Hospital for treatment.

State Troopers in Caldwell County arrested a Richmond man, 58-year-old Robert Perkins, at about 1:30 pm.  Perkins was arrested on a Ray County warrant and taken to the Clay County Jail pending the posting of bond.
