Court Appearance Scheduled In Arson Case

A woman accused of starting a fire in a home on Jackson Street on January 10th will make a court appearance on February 17th.  The fire at 1504 Jackson was in a home that was occupied and the woman accused of starting the fire was refusing to leave the home.

Adam Crouch from the State Fire Marshal’s office says there were multiple fires set in the basement and the cause of the fire was found to be incendiary.

In mid-January, 59-year-old Tomi Joy Novak was arrested on a warrant for alleged 1st Degree Arson.  She was held at the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail until she was able to post a $10,000 cash-only bond.

Her next court appearance is February 17th for a bond appearance hearing.
