The Chillicothe Hornets Wrestling Team will be sending four qualifiers to the State Tournament later this month after qualifying in Saturdays Sectional Tournament in Excelsior Springs.
For Chillicothe:
Lane McCoy finished 3rd at 106 with a win over Cameron, loss to Moberly then wins over Odessa and Cameron again.
Sheldon Rader finished 2nd at 113 with a bye, a win over Kirksville and a loss to Cameron.
Brody Cairns finished 3rd at 152 with a win over Cameron, loss to Benton, a win over Savannah and over Excelsior Springs.
Brock Miller at 182 had wins by pin over Maryville ad Kirksville, then lost by pin to a Lafayette wrestler with a 50-1 record.
Hornets competing at sectionals but not fishing in the top four of their division were:
Justin Pyle at 132 with an 0-2 finish
Bryce Dominique at 145 with an 0-2 finish
Gauge Chenet at 160 with a 1-2 finish
Lucas Reynolds at 195 with a 1-2 finish
and Wade Horton at 220 with an 0-2 finish.
Team scores were not kept at Sectional Wrestling.
